E’ disponibile un assegno di ricerca della durata di 13 mesi dal titolo “Pangenomica del frumento: analisi trascrittomiche e genomiche” nell’ambito del progetto PRIN2020 dal titolo PanWheatGrain – presso il laboratorio di Genomica del Dipartimento di Scienze AgroAlimentari, Animali ed Ambientali dell’Università di Udine, prof. Michele Morgante. Il lavoro verrà svolto in collaborazione con l’Istituto di Genomica Applicata di Udine.
The work to be carried out specifically by the successful candidate will involve the following aspects:
- Transcriptome time-course grain developmental profiling of the tetraploid representatives will be performed on the 8 tetraploid pangenome genotypes, Svevo and Chinese Spring grown at two nitrogen nutrition levels.
- The transcriptome profiling will be performed using a combination of isoform full-length sequencing PacBio “Iso-seq” (or using a corresponding technology from Oxford Nanopore Technology) and standard quantitative RNA-seq using the Illumina NovaSeq platform.
- The long read sequencing data will be used to aid pangenome gene prediction and to fully describe transcript isoforms, while the Illumina data will be used to define the biosynthetic/metabolic pathways and the regulatory networks relevant for the targeted traits based on translational genomics, transcriptional profiling and metabolome analysis of data.
